Mentoring Service East Europe

Involvement:
The members of leadership team and other collaborators are involved and supporting this ministry honorifically, without any support for this activity. It is their desire to use their gifts in ministering the other co-workers in Eastern Europe.
Siegfried Schärer
Born in 1936 in Stanislau, Poland, immigrated as German to Sachsen-Anhalt, and grew up there; training as an engine fitter; at age 16 fled the German Democratic Republic to the “Golden West”; at 18 met a vibrant Christian and committed to God;
1958-1962 theological training at the Tabor Institute for Foreign and Home Missions in Marburg; 1963-1964 work with youth; 1964-1967 with YMCA; 1968-1988 missionary service in the German EC group, leader of the missionary work and with the EC Tent Mission, camping and training programs; initiated larger programs;
1988-1999 evangelist with the Janz Team Mission;
as of 1999 developing and leading the team for the Mentorendienst in Osteuropa (Mentoring Service – East Europe), with seminars, conferences, vacation Bible schools in these countries. Today there is a network of workers in these former East Bloc countries. The main focus is the spiritual training of young people to service in their own church communities.
Married to Helene since 1965. Four grown children and nine grandchildren.

Joachim Pomhren
Born in 1961.
Married to Marlies since 1985 and has two adult daughters.
Finished Theological studies in 1987 with M.Th.
Since 1987 employed as pastor and counselor in Zebulun Shelter, Centre for Biblical Counselling and Kinsmen Redemption, Evangelical mission agency in Germany.
This ministry belongs to a free evangelical church.
Since 2003 gladly working with Mentoring Service Eastern Europe.
Jurg Kessler
Born in Zürich on April 8 1943. I have been married to my wife Pamela, an
American, for 40 years, and we have two children and three grandchildren.
I did my education as a hotel and restaurant manager in Switzerland and in the USA,
and I have worked in the USA, Holland, Switzerland, Russia and Hungary in various fields of the hospitality industry and tourism; a year ago I retired.
Since 1974 Pam and I have belonged to the International Protestant Church of Zurich (IPC),
an interdenominational, English speaking congregation. At present I am the chairperson of
our church council.
Since 2002 I have been active for the Mentorendienst. I am also active for Europartners / CBMC
an evangelical outreach to business people, as the organizations ambassador to Romania,
Moldova and Russia.
Jan Broda
51 years old, wife Urszula, one daughter Anna (18)
lives in Bielsko-Biala (Poland)

combines professional work with the Christian ministry in the local church (small groups, ministry with families and evangelization).
From the beginning co-worker of the Mentorendienst Osteurope together with polish team responsible for the prayer conference in Mragowo (Masuria - northeastern Poland)

Marius Chiciudean
Born on August, 31, 1971, in Medias, Romania
Married to Laura since 1996;
Two children: Elvin and Kasia
In July 1999 – ordained as Pastor in Hope Baptist Church Brasov;
In 2000 – founding Pastor of New Life Baptist Church
Since 2004 - President of Mentorendienst Association Brasov.
